2nd Line support, 3rd Line Support, Virtualisation, Virtualization, Hyper-V, HP Blade Server, HP Blade Hardware, Active Directory, Windows 2003 server, Microsoft Clustering, Exchange 2003 An experienced Senior Systems Engineer required to join a large government organisation. You will have the following responsibilities: Provide 2nd / 3rd line support to IS Service Desk, including the provision of advice and guidance; Manage allocated incidents to resolution within specified service level targets; Document support procedures and user guides; Maintain HP Blade servers, as necessary; Provide cover for Microsoft Windows Active Directory on a day to day basis; Support Microsoft Windows Clustering 2003. The following skills are essential; Ability to diagnose and support HP Blade infrastructure; Ability to identify and analyse alternative approaches to dealing with issues and problems; Effective team working and the ability to work on own initiative; Extensive experience in IT industry; Experience in delivering IT services that meet business needs; Knowledge of HP Blade hardware; Knowledge of Virtualization Technologies (preferably Hyper-V); Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Active Directory 2003 and 2008 (Desirable); Microsoft Windows clustering; Knowledge of Cisco networking; Windows 2003 Server (R2), XP, configuration and implementation; Microsoft Active Directory, configuration and implementation; Microsoft clustering, builds, configuration and implementation; Systems management, SMS, configuration and implementation.
